2009 – Senior Club Water Tanks and Pump
In July 2009 the Annerley Recreation Club was successful in applying for funding to install water tanks and an irrigation pump for the senior fields. The majority of this work was completed by Dec 2009 and after some minor works on the field’s irrigation the new system is now fully operational and we have already emptied the tanks twice.
The installation of this key infrastructure allows the club to place less reliance on town water supplies to maintain the field and allows us to now look at further projects to source water from alternative sources.
The completion of this project could not have been undertaken without the assistance of Turf Irrigation Services, Quality Tanks, and the Community Benefit Fund. A special mention also to the staff at Brisbane City Council for the assistance of staff in the environmental management section with advice on the excavation work and assistance with the disposal of 10 cubic meters of land fill material.

2009 – Junior Club Lighting Switch Board and Mains Connection
In May 2009 the Annerley Recreation Club approached our local councillor Ian McKenzie with a request for funding a new lighting switchboard for the junior club. The existing switchboard was not consider safe and was thought to be over 30 years old.
The councillor was able to provide over $10,000 in funding for the project and N&P Contracting were engaged to assist with the design and installation of the new equipment. During installation it was confirmed that the existing mains connection was not adequate for the clubs existing lighting requirements and further work was undertaken to increase the capacity of the connection from 100amps to 200amps.
Despite some delays in scheduling the final cut-over due to the number of leasons learn’t in relation to new connections, associated regulalations, metering and condemned power poles, the new equipment was commissioned in early February 2010.
The completion of this project could not have been undertaken without the assistance of N&P Contracting, Club Members (who volunteered their time to lay the 100meters of cable), and Metrobore Directional Drilling (who dug the trench for us at no cost).
