NORMAN CREEK 2026 PROJECT

August 10th, 2011

Whats your thoughts

The Annerley Recreation Club has been participating in the initial phases of work being undertaken on the Norman Creek 2026 Project. In an Australian first, Brisbane City Council is planning the rejuvenation of an entire inner-city catchment – Norman Creek. This catchment of almost 30 square kilometres takes in some of the city’s busiest and most developed neighbourhoods and includes the suburbs of Mt Gravatt, Tarragindi, Holland Park West, Holland Park, Annerley, Camp Hill, Greenslopes, Woolloongabba, Coorparoo, Norman Park and East Brisbane

This project has the potential to significantly impact on our club which is in the middle of the catchment and as you are all aware impacted directly by the concrete drain that forms much of Norman Creek.

Council is currently seeking community feedback on the recently released Draft Vision and Concept Plan. Once finalised this vision will guide master planning and future investment. I strongly encourage all members and anyone with an interest in the local community to read the Draft Vision and Concept Plan and to participate in the on-line survey and have your say on the future of the Norman Creek Catchment.

At the end of the survey please indicate that you are from the the Annerley Recreation Club as this will help us gauge the level of interest in the project and the way in which we distribute information to members.

NB – Survey Closes 26th August 2011
